TT Electronics opens power and control facility in Rochdale

TT Electronics, a leading provider of customised power solutions and engineered technologies, proudly announces the official opening of its cutting-edge research, development, and manufacturing facility in Rochdale. This strategic investment underscores TT Electronics’ commitment to advancing power electronics for critical aerospace and defence technology.

Matt Yeates, Vice President and General Manager at TT Electronics, highlighted the impact of recent acquisitions, stating, “TT’s recent acquisitions of the Power Supply business from Excelitas, Torotel and Ferranti Power and Control have enhanced our customer portfolio as well as significantly strengthening our engineering capability in both the UK and US,” 

Matt went on to say “The new facility will not only support new employment opportunities in the Rochdale area but will also provide increase manufacturing capacity as a direct response to our customer needs.”

Aligned with TT’s ongoing commitment to global facility investment, the Rochdale facility signifies a crucial step in providing enhanced supply chain leverage and engineering capabilities to customers. This fully operational site significantly increases capacity for power electronics and mission-critical aerospace and defence technology, directly benefiting customers in the UK.

Councillor Danny Meredith, Rochdale councillor said, “It is exciting times for Rochdale and its place in the research and development arena.  Seeing businesses like TT Electronics making such strategic investments that are perfectly aligned with the ambitions of the region with initiatives including AMPI, Atom Valley and CEAMS, all of which support Rochdale to become the home to world class companies in advanced machinery, materials and manufacturing and ultimately creating 20,000 new highly skilled jobs for the area.”
