Piers Linney and local Mayor help launch new fitness franchise business in Rochdale

Rochdale, 6th January, saw the launch of one of the most exciting developments in the UK health and fitness scene in years – and ex-Dragon Piers Linney joined Rochdale Mayor Cllr Ian Duckworth to open the doors.

“onePT is the next stage in UK fitness,” said Linney, as he joined sporting professionals, potential franchisees and members of the local community at the new gym.

“Consumers are looking for long-term health, not quick fixes, and that is exactly what onePT provides.”

onePT is a unique new personal training and fitness company, which will potentially create hundreds of jobs in the region and throughout the UK. Rochdale is the flagship gym in the business and forms the template for a nationwide franchise model. The 5000 sq foot gym offers members unlimited access to its premium equipment along with a private PT session, unlimited group PT sessions, nutritional guidance and constant tracking and mentoring - only starting each member’s bespoke fitness programme after full health checks. The onePT business includes the onePT Training Academy which guarantees the calibre of the PTs at each gym.

The onePT concept is being spearheaded by Dr Neil Fell PhD, the former manager of the Sports Medicine and Human Performance Facility at St George’s Park (the training home of the England Football teams), in conjunction with onePT Academy Director, PT and fitness education professional, Phill Wright. The onePT facility has been designed and equipped in strategic partnership with Darren Golden, MD of world-leading sports equipment company Exigo-UK.

“It’s great to see yet another fantastic new business opening in Rochdale,” said Cllr Ian Duckworth; “As well as bringing welcome investment and jobs to the borough, it will also help keep Rochdale residents fit and healthy. I wish onePT the best of luck.”
