Ska band Madame Claude have been added to the main stage line-up for this year’s Rochdale Feel Good Festival in August.
The new five-piece from Saddleworth have received rave reviews from their gigs so far and have a rapidly growing fanbase, having supported previous Rochdale Feel Good main stage two-tone legends The Selecter and The Beat.
Their debut EP ‘Holt Town Jig’ was released last year and alongside their Rochdale appearance this summer they are supporting Cast and The Dualers ahead of their first headline show at Band on the Wall in Manchester. Described as “the most exciting and original ska band in years” by Selecter front woman Pauline Black OBE, their vibrant sound fuses elements of ska, reggae and rock steady.
Madame Claude will be joined by the previously announced indie rock crowd-pleasers Ocean Colour Scene, Lottery Winners, Heather Small - the voice of M People, DJ Dave Sweetmore, soul, pop and funk artist Toucan and many more to be revealed, including a local battle of the bands winner. Bassist Charlie Lawless said: “We are all buzzing to be added to the main stage alongside these legends and can’t wait to play and get the crowd going. It’s going to be a top day.”
Tickets (£15) at rochdale.gov.uk/FeelGoodFestival or in person at Middleton Arena. For the first time, to cut single use plastic, all tickets include a Rochdale Feel Good Festival re-usable drink cup to be collected upon arrival at the festival site.
