Natalie Oldham: A Rising Star Shaping Rochdale’s Heritage Landscape

Natalie Oldham joined the regeneration effort as an apprentice in September 2021. Under the expert guidance of Heritage Director, Emma Birkett, one of the UK’s leading heritage sector regeneration specialist and architect, Natalie rapidly progressed taking the lead coordinating the Broadfield slopes archaeological dig, engaging 1,000 local participants and uncovering the rich history embedded in the community.
Natalie’s personable, bubbly personality, coupled with her unwavering commitment and can-do attitude, has set her apart as a dynamic force in the heritage sector. Recognising her invaluable contributions, Rochdale Development Agency is thrilled to announce Natalie’s transition to a permanent role as Project Officer.
Natalie’s journey has not gone unnoticed on a broader scale. The National Lottery Heritage Fund (NLHF) has selected her to be featured in their regional and national showcase titled Heritage Treasures, highlighting her training and development alongside the Town Hall project. Furthermore, the Palace of Westminster restoration project team has identified Natalie’s apprenticeship as remarkable. Their graduate team is eagerly scheduled to meet Natalie in late spring, where she will present her outstanding work and development.
