Road Links
One of the keys to business success is the easy movement of goods and people. With 25% of the nation’s motorway miles, the Greater Manchester city region boasts one of the best road networks in the UK. Rochdale itself benefits from five direct links to the motorway network.
Rochdale is centrally located on the M62 motorway, a trade corridor of over 100 miles linking the ports of Liverpool and Hull as well as three of the top five largest urban areas in England; Manchester, Liverpool and Leeds.
Travelling west on the M62 takes you to central Manchester (30 mins), Warrington (45 mins) and Liverpool (1hr). Goods can be at the Port of Liverpool in an hour.
Travelling east takes you to Bradford (35 mins) Leeds (45 mins) and Hull (1hr 30 mins). Goods can be at the Port of Hull in 1hr 30 minutes.
Rochdale also links to the M60, Manchester’s orbital motorway, giving easy access to central Manchester, Manchester Airport and the rest of the city region.
Recent improvements to the motorway network west of Rochdale have relieved congestion and improved journey times. A similar Smart Motorway scheme will soon improve eastbound journeys too.
