Make UK recognised Rochdale based manufacturer Crystal Doors for its outstanding achievements in Energy and Sustainability at the North West regional awards ceremony.

Crystal Doors, a trailblazer in sustainable manufacturing, proudly accepted the prestigious Energy and Sustainability Award at the recent Make UK Regional Awards Ceremony. This recognition highlights Crystal Door’s unwavering commitment to environmental stewardship and innovative energy solutions within the manufacturing community.

The award ceremony, held at The Lowry Hotel in Manchester on 7th November, brought together industry leaders and visionaries within the UK manufacturing sector. Crystal Doors emerged as a standout nominee in the energy and sustainability category, showcasing a demonstrated track record of implementing eco-friendly initiatives, reducing carbon footprint, and championing sustainable practices in every facet of its operations.

Crystal Doors is now poised to elevate its impact on a national scale, as it gears up for the upcoming Make UK National Awards to be held in January 2024.

The judges said “Undergoing a huge transformation in response to a business critical situation saw this business focus on their environmental impact, having to upskill and educate themselves in order to implement this transformation.  The resulting strategy and financial investment not only transformed the business model, but also served as an educational tool for other sme’s and manufacturers.”

This award is another feather in the cap for Crystal Doors who have a host of awards and recognition relating to sustainability, including becoming the first ever Rochdale business to win the Queen’s Award for Enterprise for Sustainable Development in 2021 in recognition of positive impacts across carbon and waste reduction through innovation, collaboration and behavioural change; and earlier this year achieving B Corp status with one of the highest scores in the country and by far the highest within the manufacturing sector.

“We are honoured to be recognised by Make UK for our dedication to energy efficiency and sustainability. This award is a testament to the hard work and commitment of our team to make a positive impact on the environment,” said Richard Hagan, Managing Director at Crystal Doors.

As Crystal Doors looks ahead to the national stage, the team remains steadfast in its mission to set new benchmarks for environmental responsibility and innovation. Stay tuned as Crystal Doors continues to lead the way towards a greener, more sustainable future.
